Living Relationally as a Single Person
Myth: Marriage is the God-ordained lifestyle: Contrary to popular belief, the Bible does not mandate Christian marriage as the superior lifestyle. While marriage is honored, biblical singleness is equally valued and allows for undivided devotion to God, as exemplified by Jesus and Apostle Paul.
Myth: My Life + Someone Else = Happiness: True contentment in Christ and Christian happiness do not depend on marital status but come from a relationship with Christ. Both singles and married individuals can experience discontent if they rely solely on external circumstances for biblical fulfillment.
Myth: Singleness produces loneliness, while marriage produces intimacy: Loneliness stems from a lack of intimacy, not from being single. Deep Christian intimacy needs are ultimately met through a relationship with Christ, who provides unconditional acceptance and companionship.
Celebrate your singleness, whether temporary or permanent, and live a life of undivided attention to the Lord.
